The *.rgs file is a binary file to control the serial number. I have to go back to version 3.3.1 I unfortunately. *Redshift is supported by all three options as long as it is the Redshift version that is bundled with Cinema 4D. FYI - I had called Maxon for help and they said to call Red Giant as Universe is covered by their support team. Update the application manager, then see if any of your plug-ins need to be updated. Red Giant Application Manager 1.2.1 Installer.exe's description is "RedGiantApplicationManagerInstaller". Installing and running the new app will take over the old Red Giant Application. I can't even unistall and reinstall the manager, because it interrups during the instalation and gives me an error. It took 3 days for them to call me back and I was traveling and missed the call. It currently supports Cinema 4D, Red Giant Complete, Universe, Trapcode Suite, Magic Bullet Suite, VFX Suite, and PluralEyes.
I experienced the same issue installing Red Giant Products on my iMac running macOS Sierra v 10.12.1.
